Sandy’s Pet Food Center plans new location in Concord

After 30 years in an old house on Airport Road, Sandy’s Pet Food Center is ready for an expanded new store. And it will have one by early next year; owner Adam Burr-Mecum has purchased more than 3 acres on Old Turnpike Road from the Concord School District to build a new shop. Burr-Mecum has been working at Sandy’s since he finished high school, when former owner Sandra Sanel hired him to unload deliveries.

He eventually managed the store, and purchased the business from Sanel’s family after her death seven years ago. The new store will have more than three times as much retail space as the current location, plus a dog washing and training areas. No Monkey Business Dog Training will relocate from Bow and offer classes at the new Sandy’s Pet Food Center.
